EMR USA - part of EMR, a global leader in sustainable materials - sponsored Annabelle’s Benefit, a fundraising event incorporating a headline 5K run or 1 mile walk that took place on Saturday April 13 in Houston, Texas, to support research into a rare neurological disorder caused by the GNAO1 mutation.
Eight-year-old Annabelle, who lives with her family in Katy, Houston, is one of only 350 people worldwide who have been identified as having the disorder that typically causes developmental delays, seizures and verbal and mobility issues. Currently there is no known treatment or cure.
The benefit was hosted by Annabelle and her family at the renowned Katy venue, the No Label Brewery, and race participants and supporters were treated to plenty of food and drink, a playground, raffle, face painting, live music and more. EMR USA has donated $1,500 to the event and were present at the event. All proceeds from the day are going to The Bow Foundation to support research in finding a cure.

No family should have to worry about finding suitable treatment for their child, or a cure for a rare and poorly understood neurological disorder.

With facilities across the US, and seven in Texas alone, caring for our communities is a responsibility we take seriously. The benefit on April 13 was a fantastic day, and a number of our Houston team were able to attend to engage with the community, as well as participate in the race. We were happy to see everyone come together in support of Annabelle, and to help build a better tomorrow for GNAO1 patients and their families.”
